No visit to New York City was complete until I had revisited the Central Synagogue on the corner of Lexington and East 55th and gazed in awe at this dramatic artistic form. Since it’s birth 150 years ago and regardless of the fact that modern structures have sprouted up all around it, the synagogue continues to stand apart as a jewel in a sea of architectural diversity.
