Homes in 46 states have now been turned into architectural works of art!
I am excited to update you about my upcoming architectural coffee table book. Entitled Art Inspiring Homes Across the USA, the book will showcase homes I have painted in every state across America, and celebrate their diversity, elegance and individual style from state to state. While my artistic inspiration is the vast and captivating array of architecture one finds in every corner of this land, my fascination also lies with the individuals and families who with their hands, skill or artistic design, brought each and every one of these architectural forms into being, creating both a footprint and legacy that we enjoy today.
Since my last update I have created portraits in four new states. The first subject is in Fargo, North Dakota. It is a small log cabin and is one of the oldest homes in the state. It now serves as a museum.
The second is a lovely historic Craftsman in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a historic heritage home which now operates as a Bed & Breakfast, opening its doors to guests from around the world.
My next subject is a charming farmhouse in Kent County, Delaware, that is over a century old. This home is also protected as a national historic treasure.
And lastly, here is my first house portrait in the state of West Virginia: an original rustic log cabin in in High View.
So this leaves only four states now. These are: Hawaii, Kansas, South Dakota and Wyoming. I plan to wrap these up in the next couple of months and then concentrate on the task of actually writing the book and carrying out the hardest part of all — selecting which homes to include. I wish I could include them all but if I did, no one would be able to make it through the book! I also plan to feature a number of paintings depicting my favorite cities or neighborhoods.
Meanwhile I am continuing to collect historic tip bits and interesting stories about homes I have painted. Thank you very much to all the homeowners who have already supplied me with such info, but I would love to have more. So please get in touch if you feel you have some interesting information, including vintage photos, about your home that could be of interest to the eventual readers of the book. Or if you have input and suggestions about the book, I would love to hear them.
