The Power of Word of Mouth . . .
Since I began capturing the personalities of architectural subjects in pen and watercolor a decade ago, I have truly come to appreciate the power of word of mouth. Nothing makes we prouder to getting referrals from my clients and I would like to thank all of you who have helped spread the word about my work.
As you know, my focus has been on architectural paintings of homes and historic buildings in all 50 states across the USA, and indeed my coffee table book, Hand Painted Homes: An Artist’s Pen and Watercolor Journey Across America, documents that story.
However, I realized the other day that through word of mouth alone, I have now created over 20 commissioned paintings of interesting homes in 8 countries outside the USA.
Introducing my latest international painting:
This is my latest painting: an elegant home in Lamballe, on the North coast of Brittany, France. My client, Monique, asked me to create the painting to capture all the happy family memories the house holds for her and her family. She told me how it was built in the 1920’s following WWI and was acquired by her parents, Monsieur et Madame Francis Briend, in June 1956. Her father was an import-export entrepreneur, trading wheat, barley, corn and soybeans between the USA, Canada and Europe. Today the new owners have transformed the property into a private retirement home.
It was heartwarming to receive the following note from Monique:
“This painting of our beloved family home will be treasured by all for years and generations to come! I am very thankful to you Leisa!”
As you can imagine, that made my day!
Just for fun, I thought you might like to see my growing international house portrait collection.
Don’t forget, that with good photos I can create lasting memories of precious homes anywhere and everywhere. After all, love has no borders!
Enjoy the lovely summer weather and don’t hesitate to get in touch with me with questions or ideas of a commissioned house portrait you have in mind.
Cheers,
Leisa
